Her desire to help people led to a degree in human development from Cornell University and several years working with the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma. After undergoing acupuncture treatment herself, Kathia realized that healing the physical body can be just as powerful as healing the mind. She pivoted her career and received her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture. Kathia strives to create an environment where all feel welcome and cared for regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality. To do this, she puts a special emphasis on continuing to educate herself and other healthcare practitioners, participating in research studies in the field, and treating a wide variety of people with different backgrounds. These diverse experiences have led to a holistic knowledge base and skills. She has experience treating a variety of conditions and has a special interest in women’s health, emotional disorders, pain conditions, and cancer recovery. Outside of work, Kathia is an avid traveler who enjoys getting to know people and learning about different cultures. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese with a working knowledge of French.
